Recording the stories of Vietnam veterans, and particularly those from northwest Iowa, is the aim of this project. The memories of their experiences serve to remind us of their dedication and sacrifice. Likewise, gathering their stories enriches the education of the Northwestern College students. Students in History 351: America and the Vietnam War, which is taught by Professor Doug Carlson, Ph.D., interviewed veterans in the spring of 2007. Their work is the beginnings of a growing digital collection of interviews about the Vietnam experience from the perspective of those who grew up and/or now live in northwest Iowa.
It is the privilege of Ramaker Library to support the project, and the library intends to support the continued recording and preservation of interviews by Northwestern College students.
